Questions, answered honestly

GST frequently asked questions

The real questions businesses ask us before they start — from “do I even need GST?” to notices and monthly filing. Straight answers, no jargon, no pressure. Registration is a flat ₹499.

Do I need GST at all?

Before you register, the honest first question is whether you actually have to.

For a supplier of goods, registration becomes mandatory once turnover crosses ₹40 lakh in a financial year. For a service provider, the limit is ₹20 lakh. Below these, registration is voluntary — unless one of the compulsory triggers below applies.

GST registration

How the ₹499 registration works, how long it takes, and what to expect.

Our professional fee is a flat ₹499. There is no government fee for standard GST registration, so for most applicants ₹499 is the total cost. If your case needs anything beyond standard registration, we tell you before you pay.

Documents

What you need to hand over — it’s less than most people expect.

Broadly: PAN and Aadhaar of the proprietor/partners/directors, a photo, proof of the business place (electricity bill / rent agreement + owner’s bill / consent letter), and bank proof (cancelled cheque or statement). The exact list depends on your business type — we send you a tailored checklist.

Pricing & fees

Exactly what you pay, and what is deliberately separate.

For standard registration, ₹499 is our full professional fee — there are no hidden charges. The only thing separate from our fee is any government due (there is none for standard registration), and we always show that separately and upfront.

Monthly filing & compliance

Life after registration — the part that actually recurs.

GSTR-1 reports your outward sales invoice-by-invoice. GSTR-3B is the summary return where you declare your total sales, claim input tax credit, and pay any tax due. Both are needed each period; we file both under the ₹499/month plan.

Notices & problems

If something has already gone wrong, this is the honest picture.

Don’t ignore it — notices have strict reply deadlines, and missing one can lead to registration cancellation or a demand. Send it to us; we read what’s actually being asked, prepare a proper reply with the right documents, and file it on time.
